I’ve been buying a “few” vintage BMX bikes as of late…I should try and post some pics on here soon…to my one follower…hehe
Bought some records yesterday.
7 to exact.
3 - Al Di Meola records
“Land of the Midnight Sun” (1976) This is his 1st record, and he was 22 yrs old.
“Casino” (1978) This is his 3rd record, Now I have his 1st three recordings.
I picked up a Live record of his called, “Tour De Force - Live”. Recorded live at the Tower Theatre, Philadelphia, PA. February 4th, 1982. It contains a Live version of “Race with devil on a Spanish Highway”, which I’ve become quite fond of!
I also got a copy of The O’Jays - “Family Reunion” (1975) Really great record.
Now it gets REALLY exciting!!…. I bought 2 Metallica records at a Goodwill of all places!!
Metallica - “Kill ‘em All” (1983). Nothing to say here, this record speaks for itself!
Metallica - “The $5.98 LP - Garage Days Re-Revisited” (1987) This 5 song record is LONG out of print, and considered a collectors Item. This is my 2nd copy of this record I own. The 1st copy I bought was printed in Holland and never played by me and is in plastic, this copy was printed here in the US and will get played alot!
So heres the really KILLER part of this Metallica buy….I paid $1.99 for EACH record at the Goodwill, my next stop was to an actually record store, where I found BOTH records for sale….$30, and $35 respectively, and the records where kept behind the counter!!
Lastly I got a 10” Cheap Trick - “Found All The Parts” (1980) I bought this for a gift for my dear friend, and fellow record collector Chris, for his 45th Bday.
All-in-all…a great day for records…I got some gems….this brings my record count up to 520!
First concert
was Rick Springfield with very Special guest Quarterflash. I’m guessing it was in 1982 and it was at the La Crosse Center, in La Crosse Wis.
Quarterflash was originally known as Seafood Mama and are from Portland, Or., where I currently reside.

I recently……
acquired some “new” speakers…actually they’re from the late 70’s, only made circa 1975-79. Bang & Olufsen Beovox P45. ![]()
Sound really good!
Latest record find….
I was recently at a Portland, Oregon area Goodwill, which I’m ALWAYS doing, and of course I head to the record section. Upon arriving there, I noticed another record buyer there. After a few minutes, he asks me “Do you play guitar?’ and I reply “no” He hands me a copy of Al Di Meola’s 1977 release “Elegant Gypsy”, and goes on to say that he is a guitar instructor and this is the record that he recommend to all of his students, so I take it and say thank you.
That was the only record I bought that day. The next day I finally get a chance to listen to it…WOW! I knew of him, and his style, but never really listened to him. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. His style…passion and vibe is like nothing I’ve really heard before, I’ve been obsessed every since the first listen!
This is his second release…I will certainly be getting other records of his!
